CNTBU 2025 Laureate – Young Artist (Theatre) Dávid Paška

13/02/2026

Dávid Paška directed three productions in the 2024/2025 season at four theatres:
the production Tatarka at the Slovenské národné divadlo,
The Bloody Sonnets at the Divadlo P. O. Hviezdoslava,
and Negatívy snehu: Wetzler, Vrba, Schulman, Lux at the Divadlo Jána Palárika in cooperation with the JK Opole Theatre (Poland).

The theatre project Tatarka, based on selected works by Dominik Tatarka, portrays several historical epochs and key moments of twentieth-century Europe, while simultaneously presenting an individual confession in times of mass thinking and demagoguery.

The expressive stage poem The Bloody Sonnets is based on The Bloody Sonnets by P. O. Hviezdoslav, in the English translation by John Minahane. Through powerful theatrical means, the production reflects the horrors of war, the collapse of ideals, and an urgent pacifist appeal that transcends the historical context of the First World War.

The original production Negatívy snehu is an international co-production created on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the end of the Second World War. It combines theatre, film, and live streaming from Opole and Berlin.
